Emily Bleimund, Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of
Health and Human Services Office of Global Affairs (300 C Street, SW), is
seeking a summer intern to assist with projects relating to the Trans-Pacific
Partnership Agreement (TPP), the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Agreement
(TTIP), Trade Promotion Authority (TPA), and various other issues involving the
intersection of public health and international trade. A strong interest, and
preferably some background, in public health issues is preferred, as well as
background education in international trade law and policy. Many of the
projects deal with highly sensitive confidential information, for which a
security clearance is needed, therefore the intern will not have access to all
materials, but will be critical in providing necessary background research and
other preparation for meetings and negotiations on these issues. The position
is unpaid and does not require U.S.
citizenship. Please forward a cover letter and resume to Emily at emily.bleimund@hhs.gov. Consideration
of applications will begin immediately.
